Yale? Who Needs Yale?

We know–that’s a little cavalier. We don’t mean it.

We apologize. Yale’s a perfectly good university.

It’s just that we’re thrilled for Shelly Lowe (’92), who is trading in her responsibilities as dean of Yale’s Native American Cultural Center for a new role: executive director of the Harvard University Native American Program.

If anybody out there is taking notes, this is a pretty fantastic way to start an announcement about a new hire:

After an exhaustive national search and the opportunity to interview a number of highly-qualified educational leaders, based on the depth and breadth of her experience, expertise and ideas, Ms. Lowe emerged as the ideal candidate to take the new lead as Executive Director.

More smiley faces from Harvard here, with frowny faces from Yale here.
