2023 Flinn-Brown Convention

The annual Flinn-Brown Convention will be held Friday, Nov. 3 at the Helios Education Campus in Phoenix.

The Fellows Planning Committee has chosen the theme of “Leading Arizona: Celebrating Public Service and Navigating Its Challenges.” Our all-day event will include topics related to the value of public service, the challenges therein, and how the Flinn-Brown Network can support and encourage Fellows in all levels of public service.

Tickets are $35; financial assistance is available.

We are reserving a room block at the Fairfield Inn, close to the Flinn Foundation. Email Danielle Underwood if you are interested.

Flinn-Brown Awards

Five awards honoring high-impact leaders are granted each year at the Convention: Jack Jewett Award, Network Builder Award, and three Arizona Champion (Northern, Central and Southern Arizona) awards.

We are excited to announce that 2011 Flinn-Brown Fellow Ben Graff, the first recipient of the Jack Jewett Award, will once again host this year’s Flinn-Brown Awards!

Thank you Fellows for your nominations. The Fellows Council will select the five award winners.

Pre-Convention Activities

All Flinn-Brown Fellows are invited to an evening reception at the Flinn Foundation on Thursday evening, Nov. 2. Earlier that evening, the 2013 Flinn-Brown Fellows are invited to gather for a reunion.

On the morning of the Convention, all Fellows are invited on a hike into the Phoenix Mountains Preserve.

Sponsorships and Swag

We are inviting sponsorship opportunities to help provide a high-quality, professional learning experience for our Fellows at the Convention. Sponsors may showcase their support through presenting, reception, and breakout sponsorships, including prominent logo display, brand recognition through social media, and recognition on the event website and program. To find out more about sponsorships, see the brochure

We also invite you to promote your organization at the Convention through free promotional and marketing items. This is an excellent way to market organizations represented by the Network, and we are happy to collect and distribute to event participants. Please contact Dawn or Jennifer to donate items.

Meet the Planning Committee

Thank you to the members of the 2023 Flinn-Brown Convention planning committee, including our co-chairs Daniel Ruiz II (2015) and Nicole Barraza (2020), and other members of the Fellows Council.
