Every county in Arizona needs registered voters to work the polls on election day. To be a poll worker—a compensated role—Arizonans must be registered to vote in the county, attend a training class prior to the election, attend a pre-election meeting, and be able to work the full election day, typically beginning at 5:30 a.m.
Poll workers help maintain the integrity of elections by opening and closing the polls, helping with voting equipment, signing in voters, and issuing ballots. Poll workers will also assist voters in locating the correct polling place.
