[Source: Phoenix Business Journal] – Science Foundation Arizona’s economic impact continues to grow, adding both jobs and about $43 million in economic impact in the past year, according to a study released Tuesday.

The Battelle Technology Partnership Practice, a nonprofit, independent research group that has looked at SFAz’s impact in the past, found that the group has had a total economic impact of $153 million between 2007 and 2009 through its grant programs. That number climbed by $43 million this year compared to last year’s study.

The $50 million in grants SFAz has put into various endeavors were directly responsible for 1,151 jobs in the past three years, 400 of which came in 2009 alone.
