This program involves partnerships between academic institutions and employers to promote improvement in the education of science and engineering technicians at the undergraduate and secondary school levels. The program supports curriculum development; professional development of college faculty and secondary school teachers; career pathways to two-year colleges from secondary schools and from two-year colleges to four-year institutions; and other activities. Approximately $46 million was expected to be available annually over fiscal years 2008-10 to support 75 grants per year when this solicitation was released in 2006. Preliminary proposals are strongly encouraged and are due April 24, 2008; full proposals are due Oct. 16, 2008.
