The Arizona Department of Education is pleased to announce a professional development day featuring Dr. E. Wendy Saul, Dr. Allen B. Shopmaker, and Helen S. Shopmaker, Endowed Professor of Education and International Studies at the University of Missouri-St Louis.
This session will address the literacy-science connection and provide educators opportunities to:
- increase knowledge of science and literacy and explore the current research and trends in this area,
- recognize applications of science and literacy in the classroom through experiencing science and literacy lesson, and
- implement connections between science and literacy into the classroom.
