[Source: The Arizona Republic] – Citing an aging population and future demand for more medical services, Scottsdale Healthcare has submitted a long-range development plan for its Shea medical campus that would add up to 240 beds and calls for the construction of taller buildings.

Those buildings would include an eight-story patient tower at 120 feet and a 90-foot-high relocated Piper Surgery Center. In comparison, Shea’s tallest building currently is 75 feet.

The 60-acre campus at 90th Street and Shea Boulevard has 433 hospital beds and would see that number rise to 673 with expansion.
