[Source: Media-Newswire.com] – Often affecting veterans, public-safety officers and others, post-traumatic stress disorder ( PTSD ) is an anxiety condition that occurs after an individual experiences a traumatic event involving the threat of injury or death.

“Everyday with PTSD” will be discussed at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, in Room 104 of the Student Union on Glendale Community College’s ( GCC’s ) main campus at 59th and West Olive avenues. The presentation by Brooks Gibson, a licensed professional counselor with Arrowhead Counseling Services of Phoenix, concludes a series of “brown bag” presentations on “Real-Life Applications of Psychology.”

Gibson also will delve into the relationships between PTSD and sexual abuse.
