Phoenix youth/schools may apply for Focus on Results grant

[Source: Deborah Dillon, City of Phoenix] — The City of Phoenix Youth and Education Commission, in partnership with the Human Relations Commission, offers grants to Phoenix schools for the Focus on Results Grants Initiative. The Mayor and Phoenix City Council annually directs $65,000 to the Phoenix Youth and Education Commission to fund the recommendations from the Phoenix Youth Town Hall. The goal of this grant opportunity is to create new or support existing activities that promote the Youth Town Hall “Call to Action:”

  • Provide more constructive activites for teen involvement;
  • Provide youth more opportunities for community involvement;
  • Provide more opportunities for youth to express themselves artistically and creatively.

In order to apply, you must represent a middle or high school (public, charter, or private) that serves grades 7 – 12. The school must be located in Phoenix or have more than 50% of the school attendance within Phoenix city limits. Schools can apply for up to $12,000. The grant deadline is September 1, 2006.
