The National Science Teachers Association invites applications for its 2009 New Science Teacher Academy.  The NSTA New Science Teacher Academy is a year-long professional development program that works to reduce the high attrition rate among science teachers new to the teaching profession (up to 50% within the first 5 years of teaching).  Intended for up to 185 middle- and secondary-school science educators entering their second or third year of teaching, the academy works to enhance teacher confidence and classroom excellence and improve teacher content knowledge.

Applications are due June 1.
