High tech workshop to be held in Tucson on Feb. 6

On February 6, 2007, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Metropolitan Education Commission in Tucson will present the 9th Annual “Key To Employment High Tech Workshop, Expo, and Resource Fair.” Educators and over 500 high school students from Pima and Santa Cruz Counties will be engaged in this dynamic event designed to inspire students to pursue a course of study that will prepare them for college and high paying technology careers where they can be a part of the latest and greatest technological advancements in industries including Biotechnology, Aerospace, Information Technology and eLearning, Environmental Technology, Optics, Nanotechnology, New Age Materials, Tourism, and Hospitality, Media Arts, and Engineering.

The event includes:

  • A multimedia introduction to the world of high tech careers
  • Interactive workshops with industry professionals who work at the cutting edge of science and technology
  • Lunch, raffle prizes, and the tech expo/resource fair
