Partnership with Yuma Regional Medical Center and others to investigate health disparities associated with fungicide exposure among migrant farmworkers and other residents in the Yuma region of Arizona; the study will involve analyses of human and rodent hair samples to examine associations between concentrations of metals/metalloids used in fungicides and adverse health outcomes, toward developing precision-medicine screening and interventions to reduce the impact of environmental contaminants in high exposure populations such as Yuma. This grant is awarded under the Flinn Foundation Translational Research in Precision Medicine Seed Grant Initiative to support research collaborations between basic scientists and clinical researchers.
