[Source: The Arizona Republic, Ken Alltucker] – Rhonda Forsyth today takes over as president and chief executive officer of the two-hospital John C. Lincoln Health Network.

Forsyth succeeds longtime CEO Dan Coleman, who retired Friday after 22 years as Lincoln’s top executive.

The planned succession was announced in December 2007 at a time when the Valley’s hospitals were flush because of the Phoenix area’s rapid growth and robust economy. Today, area hospitals face a considerably weaker financial picture because of government cuts of hospital payments and the rising ranks of people who do not have insurance and cannot afford to pay bills.
