AZ Cancer Center gets $1.8M to study colon cancer, inflammation

[Source: Arizona Daily Star] – An Arizona Cancer Center researcher has received $1.8 million from the National Cancer Institute to study the role of inflammation in colon cancer, and to develop a new treatment.

While the grant pays for research focused on colon cancer, Arizona Cancer Center officials say the findings may have widespread applications for patients with other cancers and health conditions, such as inflammatory breast cancer, pancreatitis and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
