[Source: The Arizona Republic] – Arizonans know they need new jobs. Better-paying jobs. Jobs that aren’t in construction.
In a Gallup Poll conducted for the statewide report “The Arizona We Want,” Arizonans said the state’s economy is its “critical weakness.” Ranking their own communities on various factors, they gave the lowest ranking to the availability of jobs.
The poll results ring true. In today’s Great Recession, Arizona has shed jobs faster than any state but Michigan, according to federal reports.
