The Arizona Technology Council, in conjunction with the Arizona Department of Commerce, has announced that nominations are open for the 2010 Governor’s Celebration of Innovation Awards (GCOI). The awards gala will take place on November 18, 2010 in the heart of downtown Phoenix at the Phoenix Convention Center, 100 North Third Street, in the South Building Ballroom. The venue was chosen for its central location, accessibility to the Metro Light Rail, and commitment to green initiatives.

The annual event honors Arizona’s technology leaders and innovators and attracts more than 1,000 attendees for a night of networking, food, and entertainment. The “Arizona in Motion” themed festivities will look ahead to the state’s possibilities in the technology industry.

Businesses, academia, and non-profit organizations working in Arizona’s technology sector who are utilizing innovative technology solutions to address critical challenges are all encouraged to apply for these independently judged awards. Nominations will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. on Friday, July 16, 2010.
