Insys Therapeutics, a Chicago-based biotechnology firm, has announced that it intends to move its corporate headquarters and research facilities to Phoenix.
Within the next 12 months, the company will move 10 employees to Phoenix. It plans to expand to 30 within four years.
Insys focuses on the development and commercialization of innovative drug delivery systems that improve the clinical outcome of marketed drugs.
The company's move to the Valley follows other high-profile announcements of biotech companies relocating to Arizona. Last year Innexus, a Canada-based drug development company, decided to move its U.S. headquarters to Phoenix.
