UA to help lead $6 million molecular heart research project

Henk Granzier, a professor in the department of physiology and the Molecular Cardiovascular Research Program at the University of Arizona College of Medicine, is one of two principal investigators leading a $6 million project funded by a French non-profit that will connect scientists from seven institutions in Europe and the United States to better understand how the heart deals with mechanical stress under healthy conditions and in the case of a defect.
