Joe G. N. “Skip” Garcia, M.D., an internationally noted physician-scientist, health administrator, scholar, educator and elected member of the Institute of Medicine of the National Academies, has been appointed senior vice president for health sciences at the University of Arizona, starting Sept. 1.
